Ela, we would like to learn more about you and your work. Since when do you work for Borgwaldt KC and what have you done before?
I have been working with Borgwaldt since 2008. Before taking up this job, I worked in the retail fashion industry as an Executive Administrator with responsibility of the daily operation of the sales & marketing department.
Was this the first time you were in contact with the tobacco industry?
This is the first time I have contact with the tobacco industry, very different and specialized.
Please describe your job – what are the greatest challenges for you?
The greatest challenge for me is to learn/understand the technical terms used in the industry and to have a full knowledge of our own products.
How does a normal working day in the Hong Kong Office of Borgwaldt KC look like?
We have a very small team in our Hong Kong office. My normal daily work is to keep track of our sales activities, to coordinate with our colleagues from all countries and to attend to our customers’ needs.
What are the most significant changes that the tobacco industry has experienced during the past years, especially in South East Asia?
To expand our business in the South East Asia, we have started to have our own Sales Representatives in Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines & Taiwan. This is very exciting and with this move it definitely added value to our product exposure.
What is your favorite instrument in the Borgwaldt KC product portfolio?
My favorite instrument is RM200A.
What are your targets for 2011?
My target for 2011 is to work/coordinate more closely with our sales representatives in South East Asia and our China office so as they can merge into one team with one object - to achieve our targeted sales.
Is there anything else we should know about you?
I enjoy my work and enjoy working with my colleagues from all countries. My working experience in Borgwaldt extended my personal horizon.
