Triacetin Triacetin is an important aspect in the composition and design of a cigarette. It has an impact on taste, selective retention and delivery of a cigarette.
Impact of a strongly varying Triacetin content: - less filter rod firmness -> Triacetin too low - hot collapse --> Triacetin too high
Common methods are time consuming, very expensive and not appropriate on a production floor – NMR, GC, NRI.
Method with the OMI+:
The well established multi parameter teststation OMI+ has been supplemented with a microwave and special software developed by Rhodia, called “Cable”.
The features of the OMI+ PZ can be summarized as follows:
